Wednesday of the Twenty-eighth Week in Ordinary Time
In our alleluia verse today, we read, “My sheep hear my voice, says the Lord; I know them, and they follow me.” As you might remember from Monday, the alleluia verse was “If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” I hope your heart is still a natural heart and not one of stone, because how could we, the sheep, hear the Good Shepherd’s voice if we have hardened hearts?
In our responsorial psalm, we read, “Only in God is my soul at rest; from him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I shall not be disturbed at all… Trust in him at all times, O my people! Pour out your hearts before him; God is our refuge!” Remember to always rest in the heart of the Lord, and trust him, too!
This recurring theme I have been saying all week, trust in the Lord, is very essential to everyday living. Without it, our whole world will fall apart. Can you be an example to people in our world and trust in the Lord? It doesn’t have to be flashy or showy, but something that is simple and humble. That is the only way that we will win the heart of others, especially God’s heart!
