Feast of St. Mary Magdalene
Today we celebrate the feast of St. Mary Magdalene, who I would call the first missionary to announce the resurrection! As it says in the gospel today, “Jesus said to her ‘go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, ’I have seen the Lord,’ Is there anyone who you need to announce the resurrection to? Maybe a family member or a friend needs to hear the Good News! I encourage you today, like St. Mary Magdalene, to announce the gospel to whoever may need to hear it.
St. Paul says in his first letter to the Corinthians, “I planted, Apollos watered, but God caused the growth.” Plant the seeds of faith, and let God cause the growth.
