Wednesday of the Twenty-Third Week in Ordinary Time

Today's Mass Readings

“Let’s Roll!” the last words recorded by Todd Beamer on United Flight 93. The events of 23 years ago today still run through my head. The gospel reading today—the Beatitudes—is very fitting for all those who lost their lives 23 years ago today. “Blessed are you who are poor, for the Kingdom of God is yours. Blessed are you who are now hungry, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who are now weeping, for you will laugh. Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude and insult you, and denounce your name as evil on account of the Son of Man.”

The devil loves to divide and have disunity. If we live in Christ and are united with Him, we will conquer over anything that is evil. Let us pray for Holy Mother Church and our country to always be united.
