Feast of Saint Mary Magdalene
Today is the great feast of St. Mary Magdalene—the first person who announced the resurrection of the Lord! “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the one bringing good news, announcing peace, bearing good news” (Isiah 52:7). Mary goes and tells the disciples all that she had heard and seen, that she saw the Lord who is going back to “his Father and Our Father, to His God and Our God.”
There is always something special about Easter Sundays. We wait, and then the light of the world though looks like he has fallen, he is victorious! How can you, like St. Mary Magdalene share the good news with someone? I like to call it, though the wording has been used before, a “missionary disciple.” Go out to all those you meet and tell the good news of the Lord!
