Feast of St. Andrew, Apostle
Probably two of my favorite passages are referenced on this feast of St. Andrew. The first from our first reading, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news!” and Jesus telling Andrew and Peter (Simon), “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.” I see an equation here, fishers of men + feet that bring the good news = missionary. This Advent Season, we are all called to be missionaries. Why? Because, as our responsorial psalm says, “Your words, Lord, are Spirit and Life.”
I challenge you today to be a missionary for others, either that be by action or deed, always remember by doing this you draw others closer to heaven by letting Jesus work in you. What more could you ask for?
