Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul, Apostle

Today's Mass Readings

On this great Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul, the Alleluia verse reads, “I chose you from the world, to go and bear fruit that will last, says the Lord.” This little saying should make us feel good but also remind us that we have a mission to do! God chose us to go out and bear fruit. He says to his disciples in the Gospel today, “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.”

If you remember from Sunday’s reflection, we have to learn to step up to step aside. Step up to do God’s will and give yourself the credit then step aside so that you can give the credit back to God so that he can work in you because without God’s strength we cannot complete His mission on our own. Remember what the Lord said to St. Paul in the second book of Corinthians, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.”
