Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross

Today's Mass Readings

Today is the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross! The day that St. Helena founded the True Cross of Christ! Let me pose this question to you, have you discovered your own cross? We all have crosses that we have to bear. This is very important to the Christian, no matter what church you belong too. As Jesus says in Matthew’s gospel, “Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.” I am reminded of today’s gospel reading when Jesus said, “so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.” On your cross, place Jesus on it so that he may help guide you and lift him up high so that others may see the victory of Christ’s light and show off that we have the true light, the light that overcomes the false light which is darkness.
