Friday of the Fourth Week of Easter
Jesus told his disciples, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” If being a Christian means becoming like Christ, what does that entail? The Way will include ordinary activities. We will awake, we will eat, we will work, we will become tired, and we will occasionally seek an out-of-the-way place. We will be invited to weddings, we will worship with others, we will pray privately, and we will travel. We will share our talents, we will become frustrated, and we will grieve.
If we keep Christ in mind as we go through our day, we will be more attentive to what The Way teaches us. Through Christ (The Way) we come to the Father (truth and life). The closer we are aligned with Jesus, the more we are aligned with God’s will.
The Way may not feel extraordinary. But the destination will be heavenly.
