Friday of the Seventh Week of Easter
Repeating a question or a statement is often done to make sure a person is fully listening and understands what is being said. Because what is being said is important.
The first time a simple question is asked, we may give a quick response. (Honestly, we may not remember what was asked a minute later).
The second time the question is asked, we might become annoyed because we have answered it already.
The third time the question is asked, we pause a while and wonder what is going on.
Jesus wants St. Peter’s full attention. He wants St. Peter to understand what he wants from him.
The love Jesus seeks from him will need to be so grounded as to sustain St. Peter, come what may.
