Friday of the Third Week of Advent

Today's Mass Readings

“Zechariah said to the angel, ‘How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is advanced in years.’” You would think Zechariah would have believed when he saw the Archangel Gabriel with his own eyes! But no. Still doubting God’s plan for him and his dear wife Elizabeth, he kept silent because of his disbelief. This reminds me of the doubting Thomas after Easter. He had to place his fingers in Christ’s wounds to believe and said, “my Lord and my God!” Jesus replied, “blessed are those who did not see but still believe!”

Always trust in the Lord and the plan that he has for you. It can be very hard to trust, but how could we go wrong with Jesus? He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life!
