Friday of the Third Week of Ordinary Time
Last Tuesday at Mass, the first reading told of King David bringing the Ark of the Lord into Jerusalem and praising God with great rejoicing and worship. Tomorrow we will hear that David kept a fast and pleaded with God to save his dying child. People often turn to God in times of joy and in moments of anguish.
What about the moments in between joy and anguish? “One evening, David rose from his bed and strolled about on the roof of the king’s house. From the roof he saw a woman bathing; she was very beautiful. Then David sent messengers and took her.”
God is always present to us. When we are at work or cleaning our room. When we are on the treadmill or eating. When we are shopping or watching videos. When we are sleeping or when we are just walking around.
Do we acknowledge God’s presence?
