Friday of the Twenty-second Week in Ordinary Time
St. Paul tells the Corinthians, “Thus should one regard us: as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Now it is of course required of stewards that they be found trustworthy.”
What is a steward? One definition is, “A steward is a person who manages property, looks after passengers, or protects and cares for something like land, money, or an organization.”
Maybe a steward can even care for the Truth of Christ within a person.
A good steward learns through experience (trials) over time. Trustworthiness is established by the decisions one makes, which manifest the motives of one’s heart.
Whether a steward is successful is determined by honestly evaluating the record. No one, other than Christ, has ever been perfect.
