Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary
Today is a great and glorious day feast day! We know it as Our Lady of the Rosary but it is also known as Our Lady of Victory or Our Lady of Lepanto, for more information go to this link: https://www.wordonfire.org/articles/our-lady-of-the-rosary-and-the-battle-of-lepanto/.
The picture I included today has our Lady in full body armor as if she is getting ready for battle, and she holds a scepter in one hand to show her Queenship and in the other hand she is holding the Infant Child to represent her motherhood, not only to Jesus but to all of us! But look closely at what the Christ Child is holding, it’s not a scepter but a dagger in his hands! This is to remind us that he fights our battles for us!
In our gospel reading today, we hear “When Jesus had driven out a demon, some of the crowd said: ‘By the power of Beelzebub, the prince of demons, he drives out demons.’” Then Jesus goes on to say “it is by the finger of God that I drive out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you. When a strong man fully armed guards his palace, his possessions are safe.” The rosary is the most powerful weapon we have on this earth! For Satan, it is like a nuclear bomb going off when we say the rosary prayerfully and devoutly.
I encourage you to say the rosary daily and like my family, say the family rosary on Sundays. If you have a hard time praying the rosary, that’s okay, start out small with a Hail Mary a day, then to 5, then 10 and always add a “Glory be to the Father” at the end. Mary is our Mother and we are her children, let us always, ALWAYS call upon Our Lady to help us win the Victory!
