Memorial of Saint Jerome, Priest and Doctor of the Church

Today's Mass Readings

Today is the feast day of St. Jerome. St. Jerome’s most famous quote is “Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ.” In our gospel today, Jesus says, “Foxes have dens and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to rest his head.” It has been like this for Christ since before he was born, when the Holy Family had no room for them in the Inn.

Can you make your heart into a beautiful dwelling place for the Lord so that he can rest in your heart? He wants to abide with you and be one with you, but you must decrease so that he may increase in you!
