Memorial of Saint Maximilian Kolbe, Priest and Martyr
“Jesus said to the Pharisees, ‘have you not read that from the beginning the Creator made them male and female and said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh?’”
“I have a wife and children! What will become of them?” Francis Gajowniczek cried out! But another man said, “I am a Catholic priest; I have no one, let me take his place!” The only way Francis could say thank you to Fr. Maximilian was with a stare. Francis survived World War II with his wife, but sadly his sons passed away under the Nazi regime. St. Maximilian Kolbe is the patron saint of families and the pro-life movement because of his heroic action. Is there a way you can show a small amount of heroic action? It doesn’t need to be big because, in St. Maximilian Kolbe’s eyes, it was probably just a small act of love, which we see as a big act of love! I will leave you with this from my dear patron, “Entrust yourself without any limitation to Divine Providence through the Immaculata.”
