Memorial of St. Agatha, Virgin and Martyr
In our alleluia verse today, we hear, “My sheep hear my voice, says the Lord; I know them, and they follow me.” Today is the great feast of St. Agatha, she once said, “Lord, my creator, you have protected me since I was in the cradle. You have taken me from the love of the world and given me patience to suffer.” She heard her Master’s call when she was a little child and trusted in her Master, the Lord. Let us imitate her because the Lord has protected us ever since we were in the womb. Let us be obedient to him and follow his voice, no matter what sufferings come our way.
