We are being challenged this week to radically follow Christ. First, we have been called to receive his Body and Blood. In this, we are called to communion with God and our neighbor. As we reflected yesterday, this allows us the strength and means to live in the beatitudes. We are called to obedience, peace, meekness, and sorrow by our actions and thoughts. Today, we are called to live this way boldly.
To live boldly—to not let our light be hidden, can mean to talk to someone who needs a friend or step out of your comfort zone by praying with a family member, friend, or coworker. It might mean getting up early to go to Mass before you start your day. Boldness might be going to confession after a long time, asking for or giving forgiveness to people who have been hurt. There are many ways we can live boldly.
Ask the Holy Spirit in prayer to give you boldness so that “your light shines before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly father.”
