Memorial of St. Augustine, Bishop and Doctor of the Church
What do you do with the talents given to you? In today’s gospel, we hear the parable of talents, the master is leaving for a journey and gives monies to three servants to use at their disposal. Two servants made good use of the monies and made more money. The third servant was too scared to take a chance with the monies and instead buried it. The master didn’t like this!
So, I ask again, what do you do with the talents given to you? Life is short. This day may be our last. The master, God, has given us the tools and talents to live each day to the fullest. In Spanish, there’s a phrase, “ánimo.” It means courage. Let’s have that ánimo, and not box things up for fear or any other excuse. Let’s be doers!
