Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church
“I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He will strike at your head, while you strike at his heel.” This quote from our first reading from Genesis is above the mural of the Immaculate Conception in our Abbey Basilica. It reminds us who is in charge and that Our Lady is the most powerful woman in the universe! Satan is terrified of her, and the Church loves her! Let us always remember we are part of the body of Christ and that makes us part of Christ’s Church. Let us always call upon Mary when times become dark and scary and there is no one else to turn to. She is our loving mother who cares for us and wants to see us succeed.
