Monday of the Fifth Week in Ordinary Time

Today's Mass Readings

“Whatever villages or towns or countryside he entered, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak; and as many as touched it were healed.” I love passing out Miraculous Medals and St. Benedict medals that have been touched to relics of the saints, or in the case of the Benedictine medals, to Benedictine saints! If anyone needs one or a couple, please feel free to contact me. But, it is NOT the medals themselves that bring power, but the faith we have in Christ Jesus. Just like those in our gospel today, those who had touched Jesus’ tassel of his cloak was healed because of their love and faith in Jesus. If they were only relying on the tassel of his cloak thinking, “this belongs to Jesus I will be healed,” then we have a problem! Always have love and faith in Jesus so that he can works wonders for you and through you!
