Monday of the Second Week in Lent

Today's Mass Readings

In our responsorial psalm, we read “Lord, do not deal with us according to our sins.” If the Lord dealt with us according to our sins, I have a feeling we would all be in big trouble! But the Lord is merciful and shows us His Divine Mercy! He took our sins and nailed it to the cross! In our gospel reading today, Jesus says “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. ‘Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.’”

If we do what the Lord says then we will not have any problems. He will help us with the challenge of forgiving others and even forgiving ourselves!
