Monday of the Twenty-fifth Week in Ordinary Time
In our Alleluia verse today, we read, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.” At our baptism we are given the baptismal candle to go out and shed light in this darkened world. More recently we can see a lot of darkness and knowing it, it will probably be darker but like Job, it will show how our faith really is! To quote St. Peter in his first letter, “Although now for a little while you may have to suffer through various trials, so that the genuineness of your faith, more precious than gold that is perishable even though tested by fire, may prove to be for praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” Be the light in the darkness. You were born to do this!
