Monday of the Twenty-Ninth Week in Ordinary Time

Today's Mass Readings

In our responsorial psalm, we hear “The Lord made us, we belong to him.” This should give us great peace. It reminds me of the lost sheep, no matter what the Lord will leave the 99 and go out and find that one lost sheep. We are all precious in the eyes of the Lord, he will never abandon us because we are made in his image and likeness. We are very precious to him because he created us.

I am reminded of a Blessed, Blessed Bartolo Longo. He came from a devout Catholic family but sadly dabbled in the occult and eventually became a satanic high priest. However, his family never gave up on him. He converted back to Catholicism and became a prominent devotee of the Blessed Mother and the rosary, and he helped college students to keep the faith. Though we may be wrapped in sin, we are never lost to God because The Lord made us, and we belong to him!
