Saturday after Ash Wednesday
Jesus said to The Pharisees, “Those who are healthy do not need a physician, but the sick do. I have not come to call the righteous to repentance but sinners.”
St. Isidore of Seville says, “Confession heals, confession justifies, confession grants pardon of sin, all hope consists in confession; in confession, there is a chance for mercy.” I do hope that during this Lenten season, you choose to receive the great sacrament of Reconciliation. In this sacrament, the priest is the alter Christus, the other Christ. We can tell our sins not to a priest but to Christ himself! I hope the chains of sin, despair, and all the other grudges you may have don’t hold you down from going to confession. Jesus is waiting for you!
