Saturday of the Fifth Week of Easter
Today Jesus tells His disciples, “If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first.” We should have confidence because Jesus also says in Matthew’s gospel “Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you [falsely] because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. Thus, they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
We should always shun away for the allurements of the world and always follow Jesus and act humbly in his service. St. Maximilian Kolbe said, “Whatever we do, whether it be an act that is more than heroic, one capable of upsetting the foundation of all the evil that exists on earth, it has value only if, in this act, our will is in harmony with the will of the Immaculata and, through her, with the will of God.”
Let us lay down our lives in service of Our Lord and Our Lady and take up the armor of love to defeat the evil one.
