Saturday of the First Week in Advent
Today’s Gospel accumulates what I have been saying all week. It says, “Jesus sent out these Twelve after instructing them thus, ‘Go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons. Without cost you have received; without cost, you are to give.’”
We must win souls for Jesus. Sometimes it can become very difficult, but we must always remember that we have the Blessed Mother with us! St. Maximilian Kolbe says, “The Immaculate alone has from God the promise of victory over Satan. She seeks souls that will consecrate themselves entirely to her, that will become, in her hands, forceful instruments for the defeat of Satan and the spread of God’s kingdom.”
Let us always win souls for the Immaculata, she will, with her own motherly love and mercy, bring souls closer to her son’s Sacred Heart. I hope you all have a wonderful advent season and a very Merry Christmas!
