Saturday of the Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time
“Grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift” (Ephesians 4:7).
St. Paul preaches Jesus as the giver of all gifts and the model for how to carry the cross(es) each person receives. The gift and the cross are both given to build up the Body of Christ, the Church.
Human maturity and spiritual maturity are required to attain the full stature of Christ and remain at peace despite hardships. True love holds the Body of Christ together.
If the Christian community, the Church, is a true school of mutual sanctification (members building up and sustaining one another in faith), it will bear fruit now and in the future.
