Thursday of the Fifth Week of Easter
Today in the Gospel, the Lord Jesus says “As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.” How do we remain in his love? I think today’s Alleluia verse has the answer! “My sheep hear my voice, says the Lord; I know them, and they follow me.”
On a recent walk to our Abbey grotto, my mind was filled with this phrase, “God’s voice was not in the thunder or wind but in the stillness of the heart, as a whisper that said ‘I love you and all of creation.’”
Is there a place in your home to be still and listen to God’s voice? Or could you take a walk and admire what God has done for us in our hearts and in creation? Always remember to be still and know that He is God!
