Thursday of the Sixth Week of Easter – Ascension
“Amen, amen, I say to you, you will weep and mourn, while the world rejoices; you will grieve, but your grief will become joy.” To this day, I still miss my grandparents and great grandparents. I have never met some, but by the close connections of blood and love, they have become a part of me.
Jesus tells in the Gospel today, you will grieve, but it will become joy! We grieve for our loved ones, but we rejoice because they have gone, God willing, to where we are striving to go: Heaven. They lived and sacrificed for us, even down to this generation. We should do the same in their honor, for the name of God, and for all the saints! Is there a way that you can honor your ancestors?
