Tuesday of the Seventh Week in Ordinary Time

Today's Mass Readings

Two important themes from today’s readings are perseverance and collaboration.

It is important that we are patient with the Lord and with ourselves. With this patience, embrace any trials and tribulations that may come our way. If things become difficult, it is crucial to remain steadfast in the Lord because He is the Good Shepherd. He is our strength and our shield. With Him, anything is possible; without Him, we wander aimlessly through the fields. And if we diverge from our path and get distant from Him, He looks for us and tends our wounds so that we may return to our place next to Him again. His mercy for us, which is infinite and overly abundant, is found in his tending our wounds.

With all this in mind, be mindful of trying to compare yourself with others. Just because you perceive someone who seems to be doing better, spiritually or physically, this does not mean God favors them. Or, if you perceive that you are doing better than someone, spiritually or physically, it does not mean God favors you over them. Everyone’s relationship with the Lord is personal. If someone is doing well, rejoice with them in the Lord. If they do not seem to be doing well, be present with them and remind them to commit their life to the Lord continuously, and He will help them. He died and rose for our sins so that all of us, together, are saved and can have eternal life with Him.

With perseverance and collaboration, we can attain our end goal, our salvation!
