Tuesday of the Tenth Week in Ordinary Time

Today's Mass Readings

St. Paul tells us today that in Christ, “it is always ‘Yes.’” God’s answer to us—through Jesus—is never maybe, never later, never no. It is always a resounding, life-giving yes. And because of that, we are called to say yes in return—to trust Him, to let His light shine through us.

Jesus puts it plainly in the Gospel: “You are the light of the world.” Not you could be or you should be, but you are. That means the light is already within you, because Christ is within you. But light isn’t meant to be hidden. It’s meant to shine.

Too often, we hesitate. We hide our faith because it feels awkward. We hold back our gifts because we’re unsure they’re enough. We stay silent when we should speak life. But if God’s answer to us is always yes, then our lives should echo that same generous response.

To say yes to Christ is to say yes to being seen—not for our own sake, but so that others can see Him. Jesus says that when people see the good we do, they’ll glorify our Father in heaven. That’s the kind of light the world needs—not flashy, not proud, but real. Honest. Steady.

So today, say yes—to forgiveness, to service, to hope. Say yes to being the light of Christ in a world that too often walks in shadows. Don’t hide. Shine. Because Christ’s yes is already in you. Let it shine.
