Tuesday of the Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary

Today's Mass Readings

“So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone.”

When I read this passage of St. Paul to the Ephesians, I am reminded of what Psalm 118 says: “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.” Jesus is our foundation and our head; we move in him, and he moves in us. As our responsorial psalm says today, “The Lord speaks of peace to his people.” The Lord uses our voice to speak peace to his people, but the one thing that we always have to remember it is not us who speaks but it is always the Lord. As St. John the Baptist said, “He must increase and I must decrease.”

How can you today spread God’s message of love and peace to your neighbor, friend, or even enemy? We are weak, but with God, we are strong. All things are possible through Him and with Him.
