Wednesday of the Sixteenth Week in Ordinary Time
Today we hear about the sower and the different grounds there are on the Earth. Jesus said, “A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky ground, where it had little soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep, and when the sun rose it was scorched, and it withered for lack of roots. Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it. But some seed fell on rich soil, and produced fruit, a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold. Whoever has ears ought to hear.”
The world is a dangerous and twisted place. Just turn on the news, and you’ll find out. Let the Sower, who is Christ, sow in your heart an abundant harvest. As I said on Monday, if there is a crack in your heart, I pray that that seed will burst the stone of your heart and make it a heart like His own. Don’t let it be filled with sin and division. That is what the devil wants. Go to confession and be cleansed and be set free. That is where it should all start with the chisel and the hammer—the great sacrament of confession.
