Wednesday of the Third Week of Advent
Today begins, as I like to call it, the Holy Week of Advent with the “O Antiphons.” Our first Antiphon is: “O Wisdom of our God Most High, guiding creation with power and love; come to teach us the path of knowledge!” In our gospel today, we hear the genealogy of Jesus. I love family history, and I of course love my family. St. Maximilian Kolbe is the patron saint of families because his selfless sacrifice to save a father and husband. That is one of the reasons why I requested the name Maximilian when I was professed.
It is interesting to see on ancestery.com where the family comes from, especially on my father’s maternal side. How we got our origins back to at least the 17th century in Scotland! Having the Wisdom of where we come from is important, and seeing the genealogy of Jesus is important too! A family full of sinners like mine, but he himself comes from heaven! We are all family. Pray for those who don’t feel like they belong to the body of Christ, because they are a part of it!
